WDSI has designed custom lifting devices for many industries. We will develop a concept to fit your unique need then begin the process of running FEA to prove the strength of the design. If required we will provide a drawing with PE Certification.

Side Panel Lifting Device

Lifting device was designed to allow an overhead crane to pick up the side panel for a truck body.  The panel is originally laying flat and must be lifted to a vertical orientation.

Turret Lifting Device

Lifting device is used to lift a turret from a horizontal position to a vertical position and placed onto a machining fixture.  Calculations were done to determine the center of gravity so the lifting ring could be placed in the proper position for ease of installation to the fixture.

HI-LIFT BLADE HYDRAULIC CYLINDERS LD009822

Lifting device was designed and built to assist during assembly.  Large heavy cylinder needed to be manipulated into proper orientation for installation on motor grader.  This fixture gave the ability to pick and position as required.  Project included FEA and PE stamped drawing based on a 3 times safety factor.

Planetary Gear Lifting Device

Device was designed for lifting a gearbox in a level orientation during vehicle assembly.  Device was attached to the gearbox while in the shipping crate and used to manipulate it into the construction vehicle and installed.  Load rated for 2,600 lbs., project included design, FEA and PE Stamped drawing.

Crane Turntable Lifting Device

Lifter connects to 4 holes on a crane turntable in a manufacturing process.  Device was designed to lift the turntable which is lying flat on the floor to a vertical orientation so it can be mounted to a machine fixture.  Center of gravity is designed to be directly below the lift point to ensure vertical orientation.  Load rated for 2,500 lbs., project included design, FEA and PE Stamped drawing.

Boom Nose Lifting Device

Our customer provided us with the design of this lifting device and asked us to do the FEA and then PE Stamp the final drawing.  During FEA we determine if the design meets the required safety factor and make adjustments to achieve both design and safety goals.

Gear Lifting Device

Device was designed for lifting a gearbox in a level orientation during vehicle assembly.  Device was attached to the gearbox while in the shipping crate and used to manipulate it into the construction vehicle and installed.  Load rated for 3,100 lbs., project included design, FEA and PE Stamped drawing.
